The International Motor Contest Association (IMCA), organized in 1915, is the oldest active automobile racing sanctioning body in the United States. IMCA's mission is affordable, entertaining and competitive auto racing as a sanctioning body. We are committed to establishing and enforcing fair and consistent rules that will strengthen and promote the racing industry.

Since exploding onto the racing scene in 1979, the Modifieds have become the calling card of IMCA. These open wheel wonders push the limits of power and excitement. With a one-tire rule and the well-known engine claim, the grandstand enthusiast can now afford to strap on the safety belts and have a realistic opportunity to compete and WIN feature events. IMCA's other divisions incorporate these philosophies and are continuing to see excellent growth.

(Perris, CA, April 22, 2024) The PASSCAR Super Stocks, Factory Stocks, GAS Chassis Young Gun Sprints, and the Senior Sprints will join the Avanti Windows & Doors USAC/CRA Sprint Cars for an exciting night of racing this Saturday, April 27th, at Perris Auto Speedway. Spectator gates for the quintuple division show will open at 5:00 p.m. with racing at 7:00. Multiple-time track champions Billy Griffin of Buena Park and Yucaipa's Chuck Becker will lock horns in the Super Stock class. In 2021 Griffin scored a hat trick by winning his only Super Stock title and the IMCA and PAS Modified crowns. He was also the track Modified "Points King" in 2013. Becker has won three Modified titles at the track. His trio of triumphs came back, to back, to back. The first was The PAS title in 2016. He followed that up with IMCA championships in 2017, and 2018. Griffin and Becker finished first and second respectively in the season opener in February. Griffin has a mere one-point advantage over Becker coming into Saturday's race. Banning's Ricky Lee, the defending Super Stock champion, and Tyler Gitmed of Chino are tied for third and are only four points off the lead coming into the race. "Hot Rod" John Caley of Glen Avon Heights holds down fifth.Like the Super Stocks, the PASSCAR American Factory Stocks will be making their second appearance of 2024. Their first showing came last month and David Uraine of Menifee bested Santa Ana's James Keller, who was making his first appearance in two years. Uraine will enter Saturday's race with a two-point advantage over Keller in the point standings. Ethan "The Polish Boy" Kintop of Nuevo, is third while Riverside's Albert Jurado, and Perris local Joseph Pack are tied for fourth.Local Cody Deloye of Riverside holds a slender four-point lead over Brecken Guererro in the GAS Chassis Young Guns. In the Senior Sprints, Bob Suchy of Tustin has won the first two main events of the year and leads fellow Orange County resident Greg Badgwell of Buena Park by eight points heading into Saturday. Wheatland, Missouri (April,16 2024) - A short week awaits the drivers and race teams of the Lucas Oil MLRA, as the series makes a quick turn-around and heads north for three nights of racing in the Hawkeye state starting this Thursday April, 18th. The series is coming off a successful opening weekend at the Lucas Oil Speedway which saw Jonathan Davenport topping the field of 44 entries both nights.A rare Thursday night date will get the triple header weekend underway on Thursday, when the MLRA teams up with Kay Promotions for the first annual "Hawkeye Land 40" at the Cedar County Raceway in Tipton, IA. The ¼ mile track rest on the grounds of the Cedar County Fairgrounds, which is just about 30 minutes northeast of Iowa City, IA.This will mark the MLRA's first ever visit to the semi banked dirt oval in the series storied 36-year history, with the night's winner collecting a $5,000 pay day. The eastern Iowa facility has hosted a limited number of regional Late Model events in recent years, with the majority of those being under the former IMCA Derry Brothers sanction. Wheatland, Iowa's Justin Kay was the dominating force in that era with five wins to his credit. The MLRA's top two drivers from a season ago in Chad and Chris Simpson, have also experienced success in the past at Cedar County under the now defunct Corn Belt Clash Series. Chris scored wins in 2011 and 2012, while brother Chad collected the victory back in 2010.For Chad Simpson, the 27-minute commute to the Cedar County Raceway from his Mount Vernon, IA race shop makes this a home race of sorts, much different than last weeks 6+ hour road trip to Lucas Oil Speedway. "It's definitely close to home, so that's a plus. This is probably the closest race track to my house, but probably the race track that I have raced the least at over the years. I've probably only race there two or maybe three times," he noted of Cedar County Raceway. "It's a fun little fairgrounds race track, and the Kay's (K-Promotions) are putting it on with Al doing the track prep and stuff, and it seems like everything those guys seem to touch and put together race track wise, turns out to be pretty good. It should be a nice little quarter mile bull ring for us."As for what he expects of the racing, he comments, "It will usually have some pretty good speed early in the night, and it usually gets really wide," he noted. "It's kind of one of them tracks that's got that top line that's really really good, but it's kind of on that edge of falling off the ledge too."After Thursday night's weekend kick off, action will head due south to the 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa for two big nights of racing. Action will resume on Friday night April 19th with the $5,000 to win "Prelude To The Slocum", Presented by Midwest Performance & Power. The weekend will then conclude on Saturday April 20th, when teams battle for the coveted #5 trophy and the $10,555 pay day in the 50 lap "Slocum 50", Presented by Roederer's Pit Stop.The "Slocum 50" weekend has grown into one of the premier races on the MLRA schedule, even more so with its recent transition into a two-day event. This will mark the 16th annual edition of the Slocum 50 which was started to honor and remember the life of Late Model racer Brent Slocum who tragically lost his life at the facility in 2005 at the age of 28. The Brent Slocum Foundation now carries on the legacy of the former Late Model competitor, who competed primarily in IMCA Late Models at 34 Raceway and at the former Quincy Raceways (now Adams County Speedway) in Quincy, IL. Slocum accumulated numerous wins in his eleven-year career along with track championships and professional accolades. Shannon Babb scored his second career win in the Slocum 50 in 2023, joining four-time winner Bobby Pierce as the only two drivers who are multi-time winners of the event. Other recent winners from 2022 and 2021 include Dennis Erb Jr. and Jason Papich respectively. Defending, and now four-time MLRA champion Chad Simpson, will come into the weekend on top of the Midwest Sheet Metal Point Leader Challenge standings by virtue of his back-to-back 6th place finishes in this past weekend's season opener. Tribute to Al Hinds initiates Placerville Speedway season on Saturday
Placerville, CA…Placerville Speedway is prepared to open its 59th season of action on Saturday by honoring a man that had a key role in making it all possible, with the 21st annual "Tribute to Al Hinds" taking to the red clay.Divisions set to usher in the championship season will include the Thompson's Family of Dealerships Winged 360 Sprint Cars, the Red Hawk Casino Pure Stocks, the Mountain Democrat Mini Trucks and the High Sierra Industries Wingless Spec Sprints.Saturday's Winged Sprint Car main event will also hand out $2,000 to the winner.The Tribute to Al Hinds began in 2004 following the passing of early track promoter and mentor, Al Hinds, a longtime Placerville resident and true race fan that touched the lives of many.Hinds was the second promoter of Placerville Speedway. He took operation of the track with business partner Richard Hirst from its founder, Bruno Romani, in 1968, three years after it first opened when the facility was built around an existing community football field.The operator of a local machine shop by trade, Hinds loved the community where he lived. In his final years of life, he enjoyed sitting with some of his best friends every night in the grandstands at Placerville Speedway and loved watching young talent make a name for themselves in the sport.The inaugural Tribute to Al Hinds was captured by Roger Crockett, while last season saw Andy Forsberg claim his third triumph in the event. It was a special night for the nine-time Placerville Speedway titlist, as it marked his milestone 200th career victory.Track champions last season with the Thompson's Winged 360 Sprint Cars, Red Hawk Casino Pure Stocks and Mountain Democrat Mini Trucks included Hanford's Michael Faccinto, Oakley's Nick Baldwin and Placerville's Mike Miller respectively.The High Sierra Industries Wingless Sprints make their first of four visits to the Placerville bullring on Saturday. The Central Valley is about to hear the roar of the 900+ horsepower powerplants of the NARC 410 Sprint Car Series on Saturday, March 23rd, when the tour returns to Merced Speedway! The high-banked ¼-mile clay oval will host the cars and stars of the NARC organization for the first time since August of 2021 and will be the lone visit to the facility in 2024.This marks the second stop on NARC's 65th Anniversary 25-race campaign, which is slated to visit 17-different dirt oval tracks in California, Oregon, and Washington."I'm super excited to get to Merced," said Lemoore driver Cole Macedo, hot off a big win at the Mini-Gold Cup in the Tarlton Motorsports #21 sprint car. "I know (promoter) Doug Lockwood has put in a lot of effort to make that place what it is today. I think Drew Warner (crew chief) will give me a fast race car, and if I do my job, we should come out with a good finish."Macedo is the current NARC championship point leader after scoring his second NARC feature win of his career in Chico.Many of the NARC sprint cars stars will be competing on the action-packed bullring for the first time, including a strong class of rookie drivers. This year's rookie field includes Lemoore's Caeden Steele, who finished third in Chico, Fresno's Gauge Garcia, Dominic Gorden from Clovis, Chico's Michael Ing and Wilton's Ashlyn Rodriguez.Who to WatchAromas' Justin Sanders, expected to be a strong challenger for the 2024 NARC title, will be looking to rebound after a crash took him out of contention in Chico. Sanders hit pay dirt in the series' last visit to the track in August 2021 and knows that a victory gets him right back into the title hunt.Shane Golobic, who finished second in the NARC season opener in Chico, is looking to put the Matt Wood Racing #17W car in NARC victory lane for the first time at Merced Speedway. Golobic placed fifth in 2021 and was 16th when the World Of Outlaws visited in March 2022.Bud Kaeding, who claimed the series title in 2017, still doesn't have a Merced victory on this impressive resume. He came across the line in sixth when NARC was in Merced last time. With a retro look for the #29 team, the Campbell racer is looking to check off Merced on his win list.Tim Kaeding, from San Jose, will no doubt wow the crowd in the famed Williams Motorsports #0 entry. The "Governor of Good Times" was fourth in the last NARC trip to Merced. Kaeding is hitting the NARC trail heavy this spring and the 2002 and 2011 series champion is hungry to revisit victory lane. He has 72 NARC victories to his credit.Chase Johnson of Penngrove has a lot of laps and wins at Merced in many different types of cars, but the pilot of the #24 has yet to win in the 410 ranks.
